Global Peace Village or a Scrap Yard?

Community members accuse him of being involved with witchcraft and  the local government forbids him to showcase his work…. the Zimbabwean artist, Dexter Nyamainashe. He has been collecting scrap to create art for six years now. Dexter collects all his created art objects together in his one masterpiece: The “global village of peace”.This  artist-activist goes against all odds to follow his passion. Dexter sees beauty in what most of us would just call ordinary scraps or trash. he is a  man we can all learn something from.

YOUTH AGAINST HIV/AIDS MONTH

Nata Village had an awesome soccer tournament for the month of March. Youth against HIV/AIDS were celebrated . Seven teams from Nata Village participated in this special event.During the event all the soccer players were encourage to take a quick  HIV test. Tebelopele  tested 463 people during the tournament and out reach mobilization.This event was to encourage all people from Nata Village, Sepako, Manxotai, Maposa, Zoroga, and Tsokatsaa to come and figure out their HIV status.

OLED Wallpaper: Who needs a window?

Toshiba is working on an ultra-thin OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) display that could be used to wallpaper your home, turning any wall into a huge TV. “The wallpaper uses light that has been redirected by an ultra-fine grating that is fabricated by self-assembled nano particles.” Also according to Toshiba, it’s several years from commercial production.

Nata Primary School Aid’s Talk

On Februaray 4,2009 Peter Martinez was invited to Nata Primary School Standard Seven Class to teach basic HIV/AIDS prevention.The students were interested in learning about about the HIV/AIDS virys. The only problem was the shyness of the students to ask questions and to comment on the virus. The students want Peter to return so he can talk bout health issues. Keneway Rancholo helped explain whenever the students had problem understanding Peter’s information on the Virus. Peter promised to return so he can talk on STI (sexually Transmitted Infections).
